Each any every week this beautiful Soho venue has been packed to the rafters with people queuing to the end of the street in the early hours of the morning to feel the great atmosphere & hear the soulful tunes that have guaranteed the night’s success. For this New Years Eve special the philosophy behind the night is being kept the same! The essence of the night is that good friends come together to play the music that they love to people who feel the same way. This unpretentious basis has ensured that friendly good vibes have been spread throughout the club each and every week as the dance-floor bumps to the greatest soul infused sounds of the last 30 something years! The friends spinning the tunes on this great night are residents Jeremy Newall (Salsoul), Pete Adarkwah (BBE), & Johnny Reckless with guest Kyri (R2). These four are thick as thieves and between them have been responsible not only for playing but also releasing great records for decades between them. Jeremy Newall: His name has been synonymous with quality Disco & House for twenty years. From behind the counter of London’s best record shops, to radio shows in London and nationally, as well as in the worlds best clubs Jeremy has been sharing his passion for music with anyone lucky & wise enough to tune in. Through his recent compilations for Salsoul Records that passion is now reaching more people than ever. Pete Adarkwah: As the main man behind Barely Breaking Even Records Pete has been giving quality soul music to the people for way over ten years now! From his original BBE nights in London’s west end to now DJing throughout the world Pete knows how to create a buzz through both his selection and feeling for a dance-floor. Johnny Reckless: This legend is one of the most familiar faces from the original UK soul scene. Always one to move with the times Johnny was a fixture behind the decks at many of the first house clubs & parties in & around London playing alongside many an American innovator. With twenty years record shop experience he has never lost touch with the music and can boast records that would set any dance-floor alight. Kyri: Kyri is the mastermind behind the fantastic R2 label. With releases varying from Neo Soul to House & Broken Beat this label is fast becoming a favourite with discerning dance music enthusiasts. On his 1st trip to Life & Soul Kyri treated the packed floor to a 2-hour trip that kept the place packed till the lights came on.
